For all rental housing (e.g. houses, apartments, rooms or villas) between individuals, our team is active with the Partners insurers to offer to our clients the best guaranties on the market of home-sharing in Belgium.

Sharynx offers, for now, its clients the best Home Assistance and an adequate Insurance Coverage available on the market of rental between individuals in Belgium.

AGA, our insurance partner, offers several guarantees like an insurance cancellation, for up to 10,000 EUR per insured person or Home Assistance (Assistance in case of major damages to the home). Read more details via Guarantees Summary.

For OwnersFor ClientsOther Insurance Documents

All owners’ or hosts’ accommodations (e.g. houses, apartments, rooms or villas) available on our platform have got a valid and compulsory home’s insurance.

In addition to the owner’s insurance, our insurance (insurance of Sharynx) offers several guarantees such as reimbursement of damages to the property up to 20,000 EUR and many more.

For every rental unit made through our platform, our insurance is automatically triggered for the entire rental period.

Thus, in case of damages to your home, our insurance AGA (Allianz Global Assurance) offers guarantees within the limits of amounts and Terms and Conditions established in the contract.

NB: The client (tenant) responsible of the damages will pay the repair costs.

To be in SHARYNX, it is essential to be:

  • An individual
  • Hold a document certifying that it is indeed your home address.

 2.  Practical Questions

What happens in case of theft, fire?

Our insurance comes at high limits as mentioned in our Terms and Conditions of Insurance:

  • Allianz Global Assistance, our Insurance, reimburses the damages you cause during your stay at the vacation home as mentioned in the special conditions or its contents.
  • Allianz Global Assistance also reimburses the damages caused with the consent of the renter to the front door or in the safe rented during your stay due to loss of keys to the door or safe.
  • Finally, Allianz Global Assistance will reimburse the deposit if it was not refunded due to one of the damages mentioned above.
  • The reimbursement of Allianz Global Assistance is limited to 20,000 euros per contract. Damages less than 250 euros will not be reimbursed.

Caution: Who breaks pays.

SHARYNX negotiates, with its insurance partners, for an Insurance Coverage Full (consistent civil liability on Personal injury, Material and Immaterial damage).

Currently, AGA, our insurance offers you the following guarantees:

  • Civil Liability
    • Reimbursement of damages to the property, up to 20,000 euros;
    • The damages of less than 250 euros will not be reimbursed
  • Insurance cancellation, up to 10,000 euros per insured person:
    • Complication during pregnancy;
    • Death of a minor parent or relative to the 3rd degree;
    • Divorce or separation;
    • Important material damages to your home;
    • Pregnancy, provided that the travel is provided in the last 3 months of the pregnancy and the contract was underwritten before the beginning of the pregnancy;

    • Illness, accident or death of the insured, a parent to the 2nd degree or a person taking over your business activities;

1.  Terms of Insurance Housing

  • The client (tenant) will have to register on our website under his true identity.
  • The future tenant will register via our website under his true identity.
  • Only one User Account allowed per person.
  • The identity of the person getting the keys to the housing must correspond to that stated on the site, also paying the rent and signing the lease.
  • The future client (tenant) will make an initial inventory in the presence of the owner (renter).
  • The tenant must be sure to read the terms and conditions of our insurance platform.

 2.  Obligations of the client (tenant)

Any loss must be reported as soon as possible to Allianz Global Assistance who will manage it:

All tenants must fulfill the following obligations:

a.  The written statement claims:

As soon as possible and within 7 calendar days, notice in writing the disaster to Allianz Global Assistance.

b.  The communication of useful information:

Without delay, and within 30 days, provide to Allianz Global Assistance all relevant information and respond to requests made to you to determine the circumstances and determine the extent of the loss.

c.  The limitation of consequences of disasters:

Take all reasonable measures to limit the consequence of disasters.

d.  Proof of material damage:

Forward original documentary evidence concerning the circumstances, consequences and extend of your damage to Allianz Global Assistance.

In case of theft or vandalism, immediately draw up a report by the nearest judicial authorities the place where the incident happened or the place found by you.

e.  Other insurance:

If you benefit from other insurance for the same risk, you must communicate the guarantees and identity of the insurers to Allianz Global Assistance.
